Chair
"Really we hate it, doesn't suit the room"
"Maybe the room doesn't suit that chair"
There are good designs then there are comfortable/convenient designs. One pet hate I have is when people only think about convenience and comfort when designing their spaces. you end up with a room crowded with lazy boy style furniture and messy organisation. For Good design on the outside of a building there is so much to consider, stability, suitability, Sun, Purpose etc. same for the inside of a building. think about your spaces, what do you need to do there? work? study? Sleep? eat? colours? balance? how much time do you spend in that space? Or consult a professional.

Inspired

So Yes… My Ad did attract some attention but not the conventional kind. I was approached by a publication to take the front cover photo for their Parenting Magazine. The catch however was that I needed to place an Ad in their magazine in order to do the front cover, business business. First I said no it out of the budget because my last ad hadn’t attracted any business only curiosity. But they came back with a better deal, so my "No" became a "Yes" and now my Beautiful Baby Girl is posted on the front of this mag all over the city.
After watching an interview with Anne Geddes today, I have very inspired to take photos of Babies and Pregnant women, One lady in segment had her pregnancy photos taken days before birth, but her baby died during child birth, in the photo Anne had her dress up as a butterfly. She said during the Funeral a white butterfly lingered around the grave site for the whole ceremony… It’s both Sad and touching. Pictures are so important to remember people and moments in history 'Yourstory'.
Get happy snapping,

Photos photos

So This week I placed my first coloured ad in the local paper. Sitting and waiting at 6am for the delivery man so I could see how the ad turned out.
Excited and hypo, sure I would get a call.
But marketing is a tough feat, you need to get the right people at the right time. out do all the competition, what makes you stand out?? Build trust with the consumer..
'Consumer' have you ever thought about that word, brings to mind a a whole heap of pack men walking around shopping center eating products and services with one gobbling mouthful (play dodgy eighties video game music). I prefer to think of my clients as individuals, just exchanging goods, like in the old days but instead of bread for potatoes. Its photos for money.
One thing I love about taking photos of people is helping them see how beautiful/handsome they really are. Its a big confidence boost for anyone to look good in photos. Plus you never regret photos, you'll never look back on wonderful pictures of your kids or from your wedding and think "I wish i never had them taken"
Everyone is photogenic.. enjoy who you are at every moment in life.

Learning to Learn
It's proven to be harder than I expected life's not as simple as I'd like it to be.
But never the less, tiredness never stopped anyone and in comparison to a lot of women I know, I might fall closer to the lazy side (esp. when it comes to house work). So I ordered some cards from Sydney, which arrived from Holland and I have been giving these to people, only to then face the next problem, my website went down, or wouldn't go up... Not sure.
People usually say you need a certain amount of start up capital to do anything on your own, money makes it easier, you can hire someone for all the small tasks, pay someone to build you a website etc. In my case, I have to learn this stuff on my own, thank God for user friendly programs that allow you to build sites without ever having to venture into the land of HTML. It does however make it hard to understand what went wrong when you encounter a problem.
I see My children growing smarter everyday and think, I wonder if I'll be able to ask them for help with my site one day (probably next year) my oldest daughter is a bit of a wiz (squeeze in some Blog bragging)
Keep your mind supple.

Welcome 2010
So Here we are 2010.. Who'd have thought, our world was going to end in 2000, ten years later we're still here, with a new threat peering over our shoulders 'Global warming'.But we'll survive that, because we always do, people under estimate the capacity of Humans.
Which brings about another point, a friend told me her husband told her to stop copying other people's ideas. Which got me thinking about how many ideas do we have that are really our own..
We accept the material world as it is as if everything has always been there, but when you pick up your tooth brush at night, you didn't come up with that idea, the tooth brush is someone Else's brain child.
The restaurant you eat in, the buildings you walk past, the city you live in, the letter box out the front to the landscaping in your local park, all products of the human imagination.
So let's make 2010 a creative, imaginative year. Why couldn't you create the next fandangle thing, design the next hot fashion item, baby item, Car even.. Write the next Hit song..
Don't under estimate your ability to do anything in this life, learn a language, meet new people, eat lots of food, play a sport, write a book, study, work, enjoy life in 2010.
When you think you 'cant' ask yourself, 'Who told me I can't?', who told you 'you can't', who told you 'some people are just born with natural gifts and talents and others aren't'??
It's never too late to start believing in yourself. You can do it.. Whatever it is...
SO.. Cheers Welcome 2010.. and a fresh start..
